The Peashooter Luger,Erma Werke was a German arms company that made machine guns and submachine guns for the Wehrmact during World War II. After the war they found that they needed to shift product for the civilian market in order to stay in business. They became famous for manufacturing .22 lr copies of German and American World War II small arms for sport and plinking purposes.The Erma Luger was one of their creations. Chambered in .22 lr it was an imitation of the P.08 Luger. It gained a reputation as a poor mans plinker because of its modest price and being marketed for the casual shooter. They were produced from the 1960’s well into the 1970’s and gained a reputation as a fun collectible. -- source link
