paperbackphoenix:highovbooks:paperbackphoenix:What were your thoughts on this book? I’m still ??? about it lmaoit’s been a while since i’ve read this but back then (so so so so long ago. like. 2 years. so long wow) i thought it was pretty good and well written. i dont know maybe i was stupid or blind or i hadn’t read enough books with that trope but i hadn’t seen the twist coming. i mean it is very likely like i said that for some reason i didnt see its flaws or its predictabilty. 6.5/10 maybe?? you know like. not Unique and Fantastic but good. maybe if i re read it it would rank lower (or higher??? idk) cause i dont actually remember muchso why are you ?????? is it confusion orrr whats happeningI haven’t read any thriller/mystery type books at all really. I’m ??? over my thoughts hahaI was going to write a review but I don’t know what I would say about itDo you have any mystery/thriller recommendations? I liked The Girl on the Train a lot.ok so i’m far from being a reference here because i haven’t read too many thrillers either BUT. here’s what i have to say about them:Gillian Flynn. I love her. Everybody’s heard of Gone Girl and wel……. i could not even finish it. However, Dark Paces and Sharp Objects blew my mind. I have a special little place in my heart where i guard theses twisted, dark tales about the big horrible things humans do, like murder and torture, but also about the tiny horrible things, too. The thing with Gillian Flynn’s characters is that they too are fucked up, a bit like the protagonist in The Girl on the Train, which i absolutely love and praise.S.J Bolton. Why don’t we hear more of her? My first thriller/mystery i’ve ever read was probably by her (or King, who’s also going to be on this list) It’s been a while since i’ve read her books but i recommend you check Awakening and Blood Harvest out. (she’s also got a series under her real name Sharon Bolton, Lacey Flint i think it’s called, which i haven’t read but it’s probably p. good)King, Stephen. This guy. Maybe you’ve read some of his books. Maybe not. I don’t know. But there is such an endless list to choose from that i’m just going to put my favorite (mystery/thriller) here, all of which i haven’t read but. listen. i know they’re good based on family members and friends and also my own damn judgment : The Shining, 11/22/63, Finder’s Keepers, The Stand (long as hell though so you gotta really want that)Barry Lyga. This man. I Hunt Killers. This series. I’d never read a young adult novel that felt so bordeline not young adult. Because mystery books and thrillers in the young adult genre are not really my thing. They sometimes lack the atmosphere or the darkness or the suspense. But these. These books. Man. They’re amazing. I love them. Read them.Honorable mentions : The Walls Around Us, Night Film, In the Woods -- source link
