A very busy weekend means I’ll be catching up on three days of horror films today. Everyone remembers the original Night of the Living Dead, but my pick for day 4 of 31 days of scary movies is the excellent (and often overlooked) 1990 remake starring Tony Todd (of Candyman fame) and the excellent Patricia Tallman (often remembered for the role of Lyta Alexander on Babylon 5). Directed by horror special effects master Tom Savini, this remake stays true to the spirit and general storyline of the original while providing fresh thrills, excellent effects, and new twists on the characters. Most notably, Barbara is transformed from the basket case she was in the original into a zombie killing badass. This time Barbara is coming to get them! -- source link
