theterry:These are two out of eight A2 pieces I did about Pocahontas, The top one is of Pocahontas and John Rolfe- NOT Smith- with their only child, Thomas. It drove me mad how people rejected the sequel to Disney’s Pocahontas because of her falling in love and ending up with a new John instead of sticking to the “one true love” concept so many Disney movies depend on.The movie was horrible for countless reasons, but John Rolfe is about the greatest merit of it- firstly, because he was very real in the actual historical events of Pocahontas and secondly- more importantly- because he stands as a bold example that people are able to fall in love more than once- your first love doesn’t have to be your true love and death isn’t the only thing that can do couples apart.Mihi valde placent! -- source link
