North American Arms Mini Revolver for Law Enforcement?A few years ago I was make a short trip to shoot guns with my buddies and I was gassing up my car. A state trooper noticed the arsenal I had in my backseat – A Wasr-10, a .22 rifle, a revolver, plus I had my Beretta Bobcat and North American Arms Mini Revolver on my person. He asked to see my guns. Normally when a cop asks to search your vehicle without cause you should refuse, but the trooper seemed genial and professional enough I complied. I showed him my carry permit and he inspected all my firearms. It turns out that he wasn’t just doing his job, but was interested in what I had (in a fellow gun collector sense). He was especially interested in my straight pull .22 Browning T-bolt rifle, and most surprisingly my NAA Mini revolver. We has a short gun conversion. He loved the little thing and commented that he would get one himself for his job, asking me about its features, how much they cost, etc.Now that I think about an NAA Mini Revolver would be a great little pistol for the law enforcement community. Let me say that I am not in law enforcement or military, but none-the-less I think that it is common sense for all police, agents, and security professionals to have one. I am not saying that a cop should carry one as a backup. For a heated engagement a mini-revolver would be nearly useless. It is a slow firing, very inaccurate, low powered little peashooter. However, why not have a third little pistol? Being the smallest production handgun on the market it is so easy to slip the little thing into a pocket, pouch, or belt. Weighing only 6 0z’s it is negligible in weight compared to the common officers gear of gun, backup gun, cuffs, mace, taser, ammo, communications gear, truncheon, vest, and belt, this little peagun would not even be noticeable. Plus it always helps to have a tiny little surprise close in hand just in case you end up in a wresting match with a baddie. -- source link
