Remington Model 8 Police,The Remington Model 8 is a semi-automatic rifle invented by John Browning in 1900.  It quicly became popular with hunters and sportsmen since they were new and innovative.  Most were chambered for 35 Remington, but they also came in .25, .30, and .32 Remington as well as .300 Savage.  Standard models have a five round fixed magazine.  However later a many were modified to accept 15 round box magazines, adding an extra kick to its firepower.  These “police models” became famous with law enforcement, especially during the Prohibition Era when gangster often used Tommy guns and BAR’s.One famous user was Texas Ranger Frank Hamer, the law man whose team ambushed and killed infamous bank robbers Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.  -- source link
