marauders4evr:There is so much going on in this scene, I don’t know where to start.Actually, let’s all start by agreeing that Big Bob is one of the greatest fictional assholes out there. Yes, that seems like a good place to start!But that’s not the only part of this scene that gets me.Helga doesn’t catch the egg and Big Bob immediately begins yelling at her. Arnold doesn’t catch the egg and Grandpa still compliments him.That’s extremely important, especially considering Bob’s insult.This show was great at showing that your biological parents can be abusive and not act like parents at all. It also shows that you can have people who (although not biologically your parents) still love you and act like parental figures.Kudos to you, Hey Arnold. -- source link
