Mustached Drakes are a relatively docile breed of dragon. Far more likely to flee thanfight. Living in large flocks their migrations are a spectacle of color becomingmore and more vibrant during mating season. Their name derives from the flashy augmented “teeth” that adorn their face. These teeth aresimilar to baleen, yet barbed and bristled with microscopic stingers running along each filament. These filaments/teeth are flexible and can be moved independently to a certain degree, allowing the drake to extend and contract them across the intended surface. While the primary purpose is for feeding they are also used in courtship. Males and females are relatively identical, except males’ teeth can grow quite long especially during mating season. -- source link
