carltonlassie: carltonlassie:i think this is the first time seeing daniel wearing a red tie (before it’s always been blueish or purplish), and it’s when he’s aggressively striking first and selling 10 cars in one day ok i was watching this scene / the entire ep again and watching Daniel try to figure out how to become like Mr. Miyagi, trying to fill his big shoes…. but failing The big lesson he was trying to teach Sam and Robby with the balance wheel was most likely “you gotta have each other’s backs and be in tune with the other” but it does seem like Daniel also has lost sight of the messagehe definitely goes about the message like he’s selling something to the kids. Hook em in with the ‘you’d think so, right? wrong’ and moving onto the sales pitch “and with the wheel technique….you could win against twenty guys!”it’s all about finding balance and harmony with the other, filling in where the other lacks and knowing the other will have your back. it’s all about developing trust with each other (and eventually the kids get there by themselves by falling in teenage love). But he obsessively focuses on the choreographed movement, makes sure the steps are correct, etc. etc. he’s mechanically repeating the lessons he learned and implanting it directly onto the students, which falls kind of flat (dimitri the most. The foreign tissue is clearly rejecting lol)He says it’s all about balance, he repeats it like a mantra, but in this ep he is definitely losing all his balance — getting consumed by all this cobra kai nonsense and leaving amanda alone with work and all.(He’s lucky she’s so into him) and he goes off to strike hard and fast and even plays dirty (flirting, driving a hard bargain etc etc) — everything that he hates about cobra kai! with a red tie too lmaoIt definitely seems like Danny and Mandy made a name for themselves by their aggressive tactics, and I’m not saying it’s bad. The aggressive side has its benefits! It’s really all about the balance, and you can and should harness both the darkness and light as long as you never lose sight of the balance.Daniel says it’s about the techniques, but it’s not even about the right moves! We see Sam and Robby beating Eli’s gang bc they have each other’s back (and dimitris ass). Really, it’s about the right people and building trust which….. Daniel also has issues dealing with haha damn -- source link
