We’re proud to introduce you to one of the contributors of Mirrors: An LGBTQ+ South Asian Anthology, Kamala Gopalakrishnan. Here’s what Kamala had to say about why they wanted to be part of @rangoli-pgh and publish their work in Mirrors: When I moved to Pittsburgh in 2013, coming to terms with my queerness and brownness as a writer was a tumultuous process. I was made to feel like I had to choose one identity over another to be taken seriously as a writer. Now I feel like my work has a real home with other queer south Asian writers and artists, and I have Rangoli Pittsburgh’s anthology to thank for that. Check out an excerpt of Kamala’s piece above! To see the rest of Kamala’s work, be sure to follow our page @rangoli-pgh and please donate to our fundraiser: https://www.facebook.com/donate/147777732585860/ -- source link
