Angraecum Crestwood (sesquipedale x Vietchii) ⭐⭐⭐definitely one of our favorite Angraecum hybrids and an excellent example of two step breeding. Two step breeding is when the desired outcome takes two generations to achieve. In this case, the primary hybrid Vietchii (sesquipedale x superbum) which is nice, but many times results in twisted blooms since one of the parents has non-resupinate flowers, was crossed back to sesquipedale resulting in even larger resupinate flowers ° (Note: resupinate is a term used for “upright” flowers in which the lip is downward in appearance, most orchids are resupinent.
