Week 001 - ImpressionismArtist: Frederick Carl Frieseke (1874-1939)Frederick Carl Frieseke is a second-generation American Impressionist who spent much of his productive time as an expatriate in France.By 1900 Frieseke was spending summers in the town of Giverny, made famous by the residence of Monet (although the property was adjacent to Monet’s, Frieseke had only limited contact with the French master) and other artists, among them many Americans. Evidenced in his own painting style characterized by a consideration of color and pattern, broken brushwork, and decorative elements. At the height of his career, in the 1910s and early 1920s, Frieseke was perhaps the most popular of all living American artists.A quote from Frederick C. Frieseke:It is sunshine, flowers in sunshine; girls in sunshine; the nude in sunshine, which I have been principally interested in. If I could only reproduce it exactly as I see it I would be satisfied.Ressources:If you want to see all the paintings from Frederick Carl Frieseke:https://www.wikiart.org/en/frederick-carl-frieseke/all-worksThe wikipedia page:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Carl_FriesekeLink to High Resolution in order:https://goo.gl/5M3rh6https://goo.gl/QrsAZzhttps://goo.gl/jqoyxZhttps://goo.gl/dXZQXZhttps://goo.gl/LRLoLkhttps://goo.gl/LD1BsAhttps://goo.gl/8Cj4wghttps://goo.gl/1YbRvw -- source link
