Week 001 - ImpressionismArtist: August Renoir (1841-1919)Auguste Renoir is one of the most famous french painter and main founder of the impressionism. He is more interested in portraits and nudes rather than nature and landscapes. He spent most of his lunch time studying old masters of the 18th century like Antoine Watteau, François Boucher, and Jean Honoré Fragonard  in the Louvre and you can clearly see their influence on his paintings.Renoir painted during the last twenty years of his life, even when arthritis severely limited his movement, and he was wheelchair-bound.
