Ms. Codex 756 -Abregé chronologique de l'histoire universelleThis manuscript is an abridged history of the world to 1714 CE, presumably copied by a London schoolgirl, Sarah Bazett, whose name is on the title page. It also includes a preface “traduite de l'Anglais” (translated from English). Worth noting is the illustrated frontispiece in black and white watercolor, which depicts a student seated at a desk looking a winged figure (Time) who is pulling aside a curtain to reveal Biblical scenes in the history of the world including the Flood and the nativity of Christ. It was written in London in 1775.It is so beautiful! Click here for additional information, and here for the facsimile. -- source link
