Apollo is depicted in the center, surrounded by stars and female figures representing the constellations. The outer relief shows scenes of humanity - a banquet, wedding, justice, herders defending their herds, harvest time, a seige, an ambush and a banquet. The shield was modeled on legendary shield made for Achilles described in Homer’s Iliad. Perhaps this will help those suffering from Game of Thrones withdrawal. -- source link
