so-much-to-play-with: It had been a year since I gave my last ropes lesson. A year where we’ve had ups but mostly down in our Shibari adventure. So when I’d been asked to give that lesson, I felt both thrilled and awkward. Will things have changed? For the better? I know for sure that they should have, considering all the shit that fell on the community along those months, but being away from the scene for a year had mostly left me with doubts, and coming back meant I could very well had some myself. We had little time to teach. Two hours. Our host told us she’d take care of the beginners, so we could focus on more advanced ropes, and so it began. We were sat in the middle of others. And how happy I was about that. I could show others what I love. I could look at my Little One completing all my thoughts, with her calm voice, giving advices and tips in a well-organized dance. I could help others grow, and do it with the best possible partner… I felt useful. All night we passed from couple to couple, giving advices, answering questions, showing improvements… And everyone was smiling back at us. That’s an incredible feeling, actually. I’m not a very “people” person overall – I’ve always known it – but seeing we were making a difference for them… Yes, that’s what made me want to restart teaching.
