sparklejamesysparkle: “ , . .”Marilyn Monroe, as “femme fatale” Rose Loomis, tries to evade her possessive, homicidal husband George, portrayed by Joseph Cotten, in the 20th Century Fox/Henry Hathaway film noir thriller Niagara, 1953. Marilyn was originally intended to have the part of young newlywed Polly Cutler in Niagara, but studio chief Daryl F. Zanuck decided he wanted her cast as Rose with Jean Peters playing Polly instead. This was the first of two movies Monroe filmed on location in Canada, Niagara in Niagara Falls, Ontario in July of 1952, and River of No Return in both Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta in July and August of 1953. -- source link
