dent-de-leon:Okay but the way Liam looks so damn vindicated when Matt mentions the torture room.“To alleviate you a little bit, these aren’t all the best people–” And Liam knows this, knows that regardless of how involved the guards were, they’re all still complicit in. He plays Caleb as going for the kill and not having a shred of mercy for any of them, because he knows they’d do the same to him. He knows better than anyone else what goes on behind these walls, and if he wants his tormentors to pay for it, for abusing and torturing generations of vulnerable young mages like him, then I don’t blame him. They’re not innocents, not to Caleb, not after the decade he spent there. He’s seen enough to know what kind of people these are, to carve a path right through them and feel absolutely nothing. It’s not a blind rampage where he’s slaughtering civilians, it’s Caleb still raw and aching from ten years of suffering and finally having a chance to strike back. In a way, I think a part of him was always hoping this would all go horribly wrong. Because a place like this? So corrupt, so steeped in blood, still feeding on its victims? He wants to see it razed to the ground. -- source link
