afishlearningpoetry:“I have a friend who wants to become a nun,” she explains. “Seeing her go through this process, and witnessing her be so passionately focused on one thing and forgetting about everything else, was an inspiration to me. In the same way, I saw Anathema as having no choice about whether to believe the book. It’s more like a conviction. She’s been brought up knowing she had to believe in it in order to save the world. So, there’s a bigger picture there,” she adds, and explains that it fits in with her view that Good Omens is a satire on the concept of religion. “This is someone who is stuck to one book. She cannot see anything around it. And I also love her selflessness. Anathema gives up everything, her life essentially, to save everyone else.”– Adria Arjona, The Nice and Accurate Good Omens TV Companion. -- source link
