sooper-dee-dooper-natural: Okay, I know this doesn’t have anything to do with Supernatural, but I was pretty pissed off about this so I just decided to share this. My assigned partner in class shared this doc with me so we could work on our project, and this is what he named and captioned the paper (and our project was on imperialism in europe in the 18-1900s). When i told him how I felt about this (not that great, obviously), he called me a lesbian and said, “Jeez, I’m just joking, what are you, a feminist or something?” First of all, you ignorant pig, just because I think your homophobic slurs are rude and unnecessary does not automatically make me a lesbian, so no, I’m not. And what if I was? I have plenty of friends who struggle with these issues every day, and if it was one of them you sent this doc to, it would have hurt them. Sure, there are some who would say, “Yeah dude, I hate those fags.” But honestly, you don’t even know what you’re talking about. Secondly, what does being a feminist have to do with not being okay with saying, “I hate fags”? Yes, I think that women should have equal rights and should be seen as equals to men, but does that have anything to do with his homophobic and rude words? “Don’t take me seriously on anything I say, I’m just kidding half the time I talk, and anyways, it’s not like there are any gays around here” You know what, I know at least 3 people in that one class who are struggling with their sexualities. So shut up. How would you know. You don’t know if you’re hurting someone or not, even if you’re “just kidding”. So please stop.Honestly, people sometimes…just piss me off. -- source link
