obscurevideogames: gaygamer: A couple of weeks ago, I shared scans of the entire Burning Paper instruction manual on my blog. (See them in all their glory here.) Since then, a kind soul named Dan translated every word of the Burning Paper manual into English. The highlight, as far as I’m concerned: the whole reason the game’s Bomberman-esque protagonist, Burningman, exists is because the scientist shown on the manual cover wanted to create a giant bee that would produce lots and lots of honey for him. Unfortunately, an evil virus intervened and caused all of the scientist’s bioengineered insects (including the aforementioned bee) to become enraged. So, Mr. Scientist conjured up a “super robot” (Burningman) to stop them. If you’d like to learn even more about this obscure Japanese GameBoy game, by the way, read another of my blog posts about it: “Surprise! The Year of the GameBoy Continues: Burning Paper” Bonus: that post also includes a number of photos of Burning Paper’s box and cartridge. (Pixel - 1993) -- source link
