incenndio:thesassylorax:complexcore:17 years later and I’m still not over Mufasa’s death. What I love about this scene is the expression on Mufasa’s face. Yes he’s had doubts about his brother, he’s been the type to ‘challenge’ him then make a snarky quiff at his expense but Mufasa just accepted it because it’s his baby brother and, deep down, he loves him. He’s family, and family means a lot to the King, I mean he not only says Scar’s name but then he refers to him as ‘brother’.To find himself in this predicament to suddenly have his brother turn on him in the worst possible way imaginable you can see the shock and betrayal in his face. He won’t see his son grow up, he won’t see him become a strong and powerful king nor will he see his wife again. It’s all coming to an end because the brother he’s loved has revealed himself to be the monster he should have seen years ago but was too blinded by his love of family to see it. -- source link
