eager-plastic:Sometimes I fantasize about an extended binge of self-destruction: just me, one or two girls with poor boundaries, and enough chemicals to keep us detached from reality for a week or so. (Any longer and we might never come back to reality.) It’s unhealthy in a lot of ways (beginning with “fantasize”, “binge”, and “self-destruction”) and a drug-fueled haze is hardly the right situation for getting to know someone, but reality feels oppressive sometimes. I learned a long time ago the (maladaptive) strategy of avoiding uncomfortable feelings by escaping into fantasy, and adulthood has handed me more potent tools for doing so. -- source link
