gymbunnycandiehart: New Every MorningIt is a conscious effort to set aside what has been branded into my mind about being male. Yes, sometimes it just flows through me and there is no second thought. Most of the time, though, I have to remind myself that good girly habits need to be formed or sustained. It’s not a matter of forcing it. It’s a matter of healing the years of my mind being poisoned with masculine this, masculine that, boys are this, boys aren’t that, and all the “real men” do’s and don’ts. My workouts in my girly athletic wear help. My showers with sweet smelling shampoos and soaps add to it. My grooming amplifies it. And selectively chosen clothing expresses it. It’s a daily renewal, a daily restoration that must and can take place as I strive for more girliness to present itself more fully in who I am.There is no doubt in my mind that there are boys who have been privileged to have the upbringing, environment, and support to be exactly as they should be in any amount of their girlness. I also have no doubt that many of have not been so blessed. I haven’t been, at least not always. At any rate, we all have a an opportunity each day to renew the girly spirit within in us. Might I even dare to say that we have obligation each day to live girliness afresh; not just for ourselves, but for all of the girly boys longing for femininity to be more true to them than ever.I love all my girly friends and that means you.
