Sumerian foundation figurines:Foundation figurine of Ur-Nammu (r.2112 – 2095 BC) from the Temple of Inanna at Uruk.Foundation figurine of Shulgi (r. 2094– 2047 BC) from the Temple of Dimtabba (Nimintabba) at Ur.Foundation figurine of Shu-Sin (r. 2037– 2029 BC) from the Temple of Inanna at Girsu.During the Third Dynasty of Ur, certaintypes of figurines were often placed within building foundations, tocommemorate the building of temples by the ruler. These figurineswere usually buried with foundation stone tablets describing thebuilding process.These three peg-shaped figurines aremade of copper alloy, and represent three generations of rulers(Shulgi was the son of Ur-Nammu, and Shu-Sin the son of Shulgi). Each carries a basket on its head, and lines of cuneiform have beeninscribed on each body. -- source link
