Though she maintained that there was some sort of mistake, Gina promised to cooperate and leave with the officer as soon as her shift of work was over. The officer, however, was having none of it. “Miss,” he addressed her in a stern voice; “You - or somebody with your name - has been a fugitive from justice for almost two years. If you think I’m leaving here without taking you into custody, you’re crazy.” Completely ignoring her continued pleas, the officer searched Gina, ordered her to remove her heels, and locked her in a waist chain a transport restraints. Gina was forced to make the trek across her employer’s sprawling campus, barefoot and chained, in full view of her coworkers who stared in disbelief.
