This 400 year old castle was stunning enough on its on but the surrounding lake was also home to koi fish and a couple of swans who were extremely people friendly . Known as a flatland castle due to its construction on a plain, from inside, the defences looked near impregnable as there were dozens of areas which allowed archers and rifleman an unhindered view of the entire surrounding valley and mountains.
