isagrimorie:Question: I have another question, this doesn’t bother me, but Sarah is a small woman and a lot of times you see people go: “Oh, it’s unbelievable she’s too little to fight those big guys!” And I think a girl should be able to fight a big guy with training. And can you speak about that?“ Tony Vincent: Absolutely, a man can get away with swinging a sledgehammer, y'know. What a woman has to use is a precision tool. There’s no arbitrary strikes. [snip] You take someone like a Sarah with someone of her size, this a challenge that we had. Everything is surgical. She’s not just arbitrarily punching somebody in the face, y'know. She’s going for the button. She’s going for the nose, for the eyes, she’s gonna take out a kneecap. [snip] So everything we do to her, when we do her choreo, we just finished a scene the other day: ‘break the arm, break the knee, break the nose.’ And stomp them on the ground on the way out. [snip] There is no arbitrary striking, and i don’t care how big and strong a man is, the ACL joint on the knee is as strong as it is on a bodybuilder, power lifter, footballer player, anybody its not very strong. You hit it a certain way, that’s it. That’s how she has to fight.”Tony Vincent, Stunt Coordinator on how Shaw fights. (x) -- source link
