The person who found it probably did regret it right away because on the phone there were selfies of a man posing with a severed hand (the picture you see above) and a scalp of an unknown woman.Police detained the owner of the cellphone, 35-year-old man who claims that he just found dismembered body and decided to take a selfies with the body parts. So far it’s unclear if the man is the killer. This story had a very shocking turn. A source close to the local police department told that the wife of the man identified 30 missing people as his victims. 7 bodies are already found. There are also many pictures and videos with body parts of different people. One of the pictures is dated 28 December, 1999. This information is not oficially confirmed yet, but it seems like we are talking about a serial killer that was active almost for twenty years. The earliest picture dated 28 December, 1999. In August of 2018, Dmitry Baksheev, the suspect was transfered from jail to a hospital because he was diagnosed a dangerous infectious diseaseand his life is under a threat if he won’t get medical help. Investigators give very little comments about their progress on the case. However, they made clear that they were able to prove only ONE murder committed on 8 September, 2017 (the victim’s passport is pictured above). Dmitry Baksheev‘s wife Natalia that was with her husband during the murder remains in jail. On 27 February,2019, 43-year-old Natalia Baksheevawas found guilty of incitement to murderand sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. Investigators established that sheasked her husband Dmitry to kill the victim that they both just met because she was jealousof her. On 9 April, 2019,Dmitry Baksheev’s (pictured above in the court) trial has begun. His appearancemade it evident that he is still pretty sick. Dmitry waived his right on jurytrial and pled not guilty. The accused murderer claims that he does notremember killing anyone. He also revealed that during his stay in the hospital he was able to leave it during the weekend and used this time toattend job interviews, hoping that he won’t have to return to jail. On 28 June, 2019, Dmitry Baksheev was sentenced to 12 years and 2 months of imprisonment for the murder committed on 8 September, 2017. Dmitry Baksheev passed away in a hospital on 17 February, 2020. While tuberculosis complications are listed as his official cause of death, Dmitry’s lawyers, who strongly believe in his innocence, are convinced that there is more to the story. They are sure that their client have been a victim of crime himself and died as a result of a beating that took place on 1 February. Dmitry’slawyer Yulia Fedotova reacted on the news of Dmitry’s death by posting hisdrawing and describing him as a person who loved to draw and write poems. Shepromised to continue to post his works as a tribute to him. -- source link
