Karolina Pęk - bronze medal for Poland at the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 (and gold medal in teams tournament)19th medal won for Poland this Paralympic Games came on Tuesday, September 13th. Karolina Pęk, 18, won bronze medal in table tennis in an impressive style. Under thunderous applause of Brasilians she was facing off their representant, Danielle Rauen. Karolina lost first two sets, and it looked like she’s gonna lose also third one, when she suddenly found her rythm, and then she won not only this set, but also next two: 11:9, 11:5 and 11:5, and overall 3:2. It wasn’t first medal for her, as 4 years ago in London she was part of the Polish Women’s Team (classes 6-10) that won bronze. It wasn’t also last one. In Rio’s Women’s Team tournament she played alongside paralympic multimedalist Natalia Partyka, and Katarzyna Marszał (picture below with their coach, Elżbieta Madejska) and they won gold medal. Karolina Pęk was named “Silent Hero” of the game, as it was her skills, great concentration, and poker face, that decided on the resault. -- source link
