jurijurijurious:Fan art I’ve done today of Nichol Williamson as Merlin from “Excalibur” (1981). My favourite onscreen Merlin! (Sam Neill is pretty good too, but totally different kettle of fish.) The dragon isn’t physically in the film but it’s mentioned a lot and is something of a pseudo-Force-type entity that it seems wizards and such like can tap into or summon… so the dragon here is more a metaphor than anything. If you’ve never seen “Excalibur” it’s worth a watch - it’s a real visceral, fever-dream take on the legend.Anyway, I’m actually super pleased with how this has turned out! It was such good fun and I’m just so pleased to be really enjoying art and drawing stuff for myself again!(I’d appreciate it if you didn’t re-post my art, but feel free to reblog ofc!
