darcybrown: Just got back from my first bike camping test trip. Rode from my house in Dallas (Lakewood) to Cedar Hill State park in the blistering 103 degree heat. The ride out was 3.5hrs because of all the rest stops in the shade, the ride back was a breeze because I left in the morning (duh), it was 2hrs. The bags are Revelate Design Viscacha and Revelate Design Tangle. Both were as sturdy as all the reviews suggest. In the seat bag, the white lump of mass was my change of clothes, the blue lump is a Cocoon silk liner in place of a sleeping bag. Inside the MSR pot is an orange Sea to Summit X-Cup for coffee, and under that is an Esbit Folding Stove with their solid fuel cubes inside it. The Hennessy Hammock has snake skins on it and is configured with the quick setup system made famous here. I think the rest is probably self explanatory. All in all, a great first trip for what I hope is more to come. -- source link
