anassarhenisch:lizziethereader:anassarhenisch:lizziethereader:Weekly Bookish Question #219 (February 7th - February 13th):When you think back to books you’ve read a couple of years ago, what do you tend to remember most about them? Characters? Plotlines? General impressions? Do you have images of certain scenes in your head?General plot lines, major characters, and the vibe, for the most part. (Was it slow? Fast? Funny? Exciting?) I don’t remember scenes unless they really made an impression, and if I think about it, I’ll probably get more memories of the book. Triggers, diversity, that sort of thing. That’s a lot to remember about each book! I often don’t remember the general plot lines (beyond what’s shared in the blurb) but I do sometimes remember specific scenes (visually) for some reason. They don’t even have to be important scenes, so I don’t even know why I remember them (though I’d be interested to find out the common denominator. Memory is a mystery!)You forget that reading books isn’t quite just a hobby for me. I have a good memory anyway, yes, but it pays to be able to call up vibes and plots and potential triggers when I’m handselling. :)Even still, it’s impressive. I certainly don’t remember that much about things related to my job. (It comes back to me when I teach it again, but don’t ask me about details from last years curriculum) -- source link
