Rubber Band Gun — The Bullseye SharpshooterMade by various companies from the 1920’s all the up into the 1970’s, the Bullseye Sharpshooter was kind of like a slinshot with trigger and a barrel.  Basically rubber bands were stretched in the “breech” and a hooper was loaded with pieces of #6 birdshot.  A piece of shot would fall into a chamber, where it would be flung by a rubberband activated by the pull of a trigger.  Multiple rubber bands allowed for semi-automatic firepower, or they could be fired all at once for more power.  The gun came with rubber bands, instructions, a loading trough, a target, and a small canister of shot.Ads for the pistol made the claim that you could hit a fly with it at 16 feet.  D.T. Fletcher made a report forAmerican Airgunnerfinding that he could indeed shoot a fly sized target at 10 feet with a muzzle velocity of 100 feet per second.  The Sharpshooter was also featured in a 1925 issue of American Rifleman and The Shooters Bible. -- source link
