mzminola:saucefactory:lonewolfed:in which stiles is a badassThis is the thing Stiles hides from everyone, that he has this rage in him, that he can do that. He’s the harmless kid, most of the time, the one you wouldn’t expect to hit back, to hit at all. He’s the one that jokes around and flails about and falls over things. But this is what Stiles doesn’t want people to know. That he has violence in him. The only reason he even shows that side of himself here is because everyone is pretty sure they’re all going to die, anyway. The question is… Why doesn’t Stiles share this side of himself more often?Maybe it’s because he’s worried about what people will say, but I don’t think so. I think it’s a fine instinct Stiles has, an instinct for camouflage, that marks him as the sort of animal capable of lying in wait for prey - not always a predator, but capable of being one. When push comes to shove, Stiles is not prey. He’s more than able to capture prey of his own. It’s half-subconscious and half-deliberate, when Stiles acts on that instinct to camouflage himself, to be what most quickly disarms the people around him, thus leaving them vulnerable to him. Nobody expects Stiles to be capable of attack, and so they naturally leave themselves open to his attacks. Stiles has mastered some Sun Tzu shit, people. The kid is impressive. And Peter’s the only one who gets that, ironically - the only one who senses what Stiles is capable of being, who recognizes him as a fellow predator, who offers him the bite.I’m looking forward to seeing more of this side of Stiles on the show, in the next season. I’m especially looking forward to someone else - maybe even everyone else? - finding out. Also related: This meta on Stiles’s Machiavellian side.Reblogging for three reasons:1. Saucery says interesting things!2. This goes well with my old post about people grabbing/shoving Stiles. Because while Jackson shoves Stiles sometimes, I think this moment in Night School and the one in Code Breaker are where he grabs Stiles’ shoulder. Both instances, Stiles gets out of the grab near instantaneously. Here with a punch, there with an arm-sweep.All the times one of the werewolves or adults grabs/wall-slams him, Stiles talks his way out, or just waits it out.But he doesn’t with Jackson. At all. And I hadn’t realized before it wasn’t a one-time thing, because now we’ve seen it at least twice.Jackson isn’t allowed to grab Stiles, and that’s kind of fascinating.3.
