queerasfact:Australia’s National Motor Museum has an entire exhibition on the subject of our latest podcast, mechanic Alice Anderson!Alice established Australia’s first all-female garage in Melbourne in 1919, a business which attracted non-conforming women as staff and customers, including queer women. It is likely Alice herself was a lesbian. The exhibition features a replica of the garage, as well as of the uniforms Alice’s staff wore, and of the car she drove from Melbourne to Alice Springs in 1926.It’s very exciting to see a museum exhibition on the subject of one of our podcasts - but since most of us can’t make it to Birdwood, South Australia, check out the podcast instead![Image sources: x x x x] -- source link
