tamikaflynned:My meta got too long for the tags so:#YOU DON’T HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH MY FAVE SCENE #WHAT A PERFECT DEPICTION OF PETER’S DEEPLY ROOTED NEED TO DEFEND NARNIA #COMBINED WITH HIS HUBRIS #WHAT A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW THE MIGHTY FALL #(or in this case stumble since he doesn’t quite get to unleashing her) #BUT ALSO WHAT A GOOD EXAMPLE OF EDMUND’S CHARACTER GROWTH #IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME THAT HE ‘KILLS’ JADIS THIS TIME YOU DON’T EVEN #S O I M P O R T A N T #what a sign of him overcoming the darkness in his past by acknowledging it and fighting it and using his hurt and anger over it to defend narnia to his last breath #(but also mm that lingering bit of snark #god i hope peter apologized to him thoroughly after this scene #because you can tASTE edmund’s sense of betrayal in that expression and those two lines #because here’s his big brother and defender and fellow soldier about to make the same mistake he had when he KNOWS better #all because peter refuses to accept what has changed #you will NEVER convince me that when push comes to shove it was susan and edmund who adapted best to bad situations #or at least in ways that best assured their continued ability to do what needed to get done #while peter and lucy would be wanting to but would so so so often get stuck in the same kind of thinking that had maybe gotten them into that situation#or just didn’t work #and they would attack a problem with blunt force when it required more finesse #i just #UGH #they all balance each other out so well #what an important scenepossibly also of interest to spareooms -- source link
