bristolcountycyclist: I never felt the need for cross top levers in all the years I raced cross. But when I bought my Specialized Singlecross it came with them. I still don’t feel the need for them or their weight in cyclocross races. I do however find them comfortable for long dirt road or gravel grinder type events. They pull better than traditional road levers with cantis and v-brakes and give an extra hand position. When the little woman took over the new Crux she wanted them for that reason. Like most of us I spend the majority of the ride on the brake hoods. Ergo levers have to be the greatest bicycle improvement of all time. To round out the package I put on a new Fuji carbon cross fork, recycled Fuji seatpost, stem, saddle, and some new Vuelta 29er Zero Lite wheels. First time with Vuelta wheels. I like the look of the paired bladed spokes and the nice finish and the fact they are disc compatible. -- source link
