We present selected pages from our fine facsimile of the Barcelona Haggadah (London: Facsimile Editions, 1992), considered one of the finest illuminated Hebrew manuscripts in the collection of the British Library. It dates from the middle of the fourteenth century, and is named after the heraldic shield it bears, which resembles the arms of Barcelona. The large size of the text and illuminations suggest that the manuscript was designed for use by a family, including children, at the Seder gathering and meal on Passover. -- source link
