girlsonwheelsmag: PIÑÓN FIJO by Grace García Piñón Fijo is an open photography project born to document the fixed gear movement in Madrid. This book shows a 22 urban cyclists selection with a common point, the fixed gear. With 44 pictures this project wants to show the world a part of this culture and pretends to be a help for its development. Partners: Ilusteo, Iberobike.http://issuu.com/mariocranks/docs/pinonfijoPATT NOVOAI have always had a special relationship with my bike. I began riding my fixed bike because of my friends, I even had a sort of fixation since there was a boom here in Madrid, one or two years ago. Riding a bike has given me many good things, such as reaching places that I would never have been able to access without a bike or on foot, to meet people who shares the same hobby, people from many places as well as many gratifying and funny feelings.I think this sport had a big peak on 2009 and now keeps growing slowlier but with a huge crowd. Even people say that the city is not prepared for bikes, I think there are lots of places where this sport can be played safely… bike lanes at Colmenar, San Martín de la Vega, the green circle, Casa de Campo, etc. Along time you see different ways to ride a bike, the specialties, how people pimps their ride, those who like long routes, bike lanes, movement within traffic…I relate to a bike lane for training and riding the city, because that’s something part of my day-to-day. Less than a year ago I’ve become a part of the Dosnoventa team, this means a great support and motivation for me. -- source link
