Bronze plaque inscribed with a dedication to Feronia, in fulfilment of a vow by Hedone, a Greek maidservant of one Marcus Crassus. The goddess was associated with wildlife, fertility, health and abundance.The plaque reads: Hedone / M(arci) Crassi ancilla / Feroniae v(otum) s(olvit) l(ibens) m(erito), meaning “Hedone, maidservant of Marcus Crassius, [dedicates this gift] to Feronia, and releases the vow freely, as is deserved”.2nd century A.D.© Trustees of the British Museum, London -- source link
