ja-ll:This is a recent comment on me and Jam’s “Facts about Being Biracial” video on youtube. BS like this makes me so mad. Trivializing how Jam and I as young black girls struggled to embrace being white (to no avail) by saying that we were called horrible things and tried to overcompensate? No one has ever called me that to my knowledge, and literally part of the black struggle is the failed attempts at overcompensating to be deemed worth something in the communities we live in.Please guys, if you REALLY feel the need to go out of your way to trivialize how I’ve struggled in my life and call me a pseudo-intellectualist while ALSO pitying me, call 1-800-668-6868 which is Bell Kid’s Help Phone and they have trained professionals who love to talk about deep rooted insecurities that cause young individuals to lash out in various ways (including but not exclusive to essay-format youtube comments). TTYL.first of all LMFAO jas at the kids help phone. second, amen. third, I think it’s funny that every person I’ve encountered who tries to minimalize or trivialize me and my experiences resorts to spewing out every buzz word and “intellectual” sounding jargon they can think of when actually none of it really makes sense. fourth, YouTube, fix your fucking disable comments option for fucks sake. -- source link
