When cases come, they come in pairs. And in seasons. This season, it is young cats with life threatening health emergencies. Hi friends, this is Cat Mjaouw, an ABANDONED Persian female found at Jurong West Street 42 Block 545. She is 5 years old. She was found abandoned with a severely prolapsed rectum, flies hovering around her, pus coming out of her nose, and she keeps coughing sputum. Upon an initial consult at a first vet after being rescued by our ally Raynell Lee Tze Hui, it was found through x-ray that Cat Mjaouw has severely diminished kidney size, and an enlarged heart (top heavy). The doctor and I did not like what we saw. And doctor suggested euthanasia. There was also signs of mild Gangrene on the Prolapsed anus as well because, enlarged heart, cannot withstand general anaesthesia. She will die on the operating table. I refused outright and told them politely that we would try a second opinion. And so we went to Cat Clinic at Sunset Way and saw the affable and very zai Dr Geetha Nellinathan. One look at Cat Mjaouw and she said she would start the sugar poultice treatment. The sugar poultice treatment is actually a less painful and equally effective manner of cleaning wounds and inviting healing (it’s exactly like putting salt on your mouth ulcers - we usually scream like we gonna die when we put the salt, sugar does the same antiseptic things but without the screaming). Thereafter, she would slowly try to push back the prolapse in. And deride the gangrenous tissue to invite new tissue growth. This is so we can avoid surgery altogether. This is my first time at the Cat Clinic and I am impressed by the warmth and attentiveness of all the staff and their kindness to the animals (no sneers no judgments, all compassion). I would like to go to such a specialised clinic in the near future. Of course we would still be raising funds for Cat Mjaouw. If you would like to make a donation to her, you have THREE OPTIONS; OPTION 1: bank transfer to POSB Savings account 209-04741-1 OPTION 2: PayPal donations at www.paypal.me/ChoaChuKangCatRescue OPTION 3: in-situ donation at The Cat Clinic (109 Clementi Street 11, #01-33 Singapore 120109) Thank you.
