fleur-of-lys: “Corbin was called home this morning at 7:04 am. Surrounded by family and friends.” Pray for Corbin and his family. www.facebook.com/prayersforcorbinmchenry Corbin Alfred McHenry was 134 days old. I remember in the earlier days following his story when he was still quite small and a preemie. I remember hearing Kara & Shane McHenry’s story about their discovery and how they’d fight alongside Corbs before he was even born. This was one of the many reasons I was on Facebook many a time. Corbin’s mother, Kara, would update every night before bed with a little sign and a story of how that day went. It was a large portion of my night, scrolling and watching around for the sign for that evening. My heart dropped to learn that he had an infection and doctors at times underestimate the strength of babies, the tenacity and fight in them. They prepared Corbin’s mother and I prepared myself. This morning, I was searching through facebook. I was up at 9am looking around when I found this. “Corbin was called home this morning at 7:04 am. Surrounded by family and friends.” He was a celebrity in his own right for his parents getting his story out there. Corbin was a little soldier, he dodged everything and fought the label of “incompatible with life” that was given to him in utero. The fact that his mother and father were as strong hearted and strong willed and willing to help was the best thing that I loved about Kara and Shane. I have never personally come across anybody with Trisomy 13, but I follow pages of mothers who are still right there with their soldiers. Celebrities wore his awareness bracelets, many children wore his team shirts. Now it’s time to send him off to be a special angel. -- source link
