The birth of The Monster. Design sketches by Zach Lehner ( minisaurusrex ) for “The Test,” the short comic we debuted earlier today. (And which you can download free here). The thing that attracted me to Zach’s table at C2E2 this year was his animal art, which reminded me of Guarnido’s work on Blacksad. I wanted to take advantage of that, and The Monster’s design really comes together when he pushes the animal element. And while she’s only referred to as The Monster in “The Test,” this character does have a name. It’s Tara. Short for Minotara. (Making up superhero names is SO FUN.) I have more plans for her, but it may be a while before those come to fruition. -- source link
