Hamantaschen! The quality is variable but the flavor is fine! These were made with the cookie recipe from Joan Nathan’s Holiday Cookbook, which I like because it’s not super sweet. I’m lazy when it comes to fillings, so the filling is just a dollop of Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread, topped with chocolate chunks. It worked really well – the spread acts like a caramel base with cinnamon flavoring, which accentuates the flavor of the chocolate. Next time, bit of flake salt between the two layers, possibly. Although I’m now out of cinnamon bun spread so probably next time I’ll just use caramel. [Description: Four images; the first two are before-and-after images of a very small cookie sheet with hamantaschen cookies on it. The third image is a close-up of what I consider the most perfect of the batch, with half-melted chunk chocolate clearly visible peeping out through the hole formed by the cookie dough. Fourth image is the entire batch, laid out on a cooling rack; some look great, and others have…unfolded, would be the polite way to put it.] -- source link
