tinycartridge: Unreleased Happily Ever After NES game found ⊟ Collector Sean McGee discovered a prototype of Sofel’s NES game, based on the Filmation Snow White sequel, right in my hometown of Austin, TX. It looks… not great, but it’s still a pretty amazing historical artifact! According to Nintendo Player, the cartridge was likely in this area because Austin was the headquarters of 1st National Film, who distributed the Happily Ever After movie in the US. The movie’s box office failure led shortly to the closure of Filmation and, probably, cancellation of this game, though a (different) SNES game did come out later. There’s a surprising amount of history to this story about this one licensed NES game. I absolutely suggest reading the full account here! Thanks to Joan for sending us the story.SUPPORT TINY CARTRIDGE Join Club Tiny! -- source link
