hi friends! today i thought i would share what’s in the back pocket of my moleskine, because i keep a lot of things in there. that notebook is kind of like my wallet—it’s got “pictures” of loved ones and i hardly go anywhere without it. without any further ado, here’s the list!the first draft of a poem. that’s that big white sheet in the back with a bunch of stuff crossed out. it’s written on the back of a camp counselor schedule. i keep it in my notebook to remind me how ugly my first drafts can look, and the end product shows i’ve improved!the moleskine label. listen, i’m a sucker for paper, all kinds—tags, stickers, origami paper, whatever. i keep old labels just to remember that this thing actually exists. kind of silly, but it’s a habit.a plush totoro tag. the totoro belongs to my friend now (i bought it as a gift), but i kept the tag as a remembrance of it and of her. plus the art is adorable.two notes from my best friend. those are the pieces of lined paper with handwriting in pencil. i like to read them sometimes, just because they make me feel nice. (also doesn’t he have the most perfect, textbookish cursive?)an old to-do list. this to-do list actually isn’t mine, it’s my older sister’s. i found it while reading her copy of king lear my senior year of high school. i kept it to remind myself that she made it through all the same awful college stuff i did, and she loves her life now.“the stapletons.” that tiny green slip of paper is from my senior year first semester english elective, when one of my best friends and i successfully framed the stapletons for the murder of sir charles baskerville. technically i already knew it was them but whatever. another one of those things i kept just because.well, that’s all! thanks for reading, and happy journaling!!– sasha -- source link
