Heroes in Crisis #6 Mini-ReviewHm, well that was sad.Spoilers Behind the CutThis issue acted as a flashback to the final days of the Sanctuary patients, focusing specifically upon Harley visiting Poison Ivy, the caveman former Teen Titan Gnarrk philosophising about his sense of loneliness being a man out of time, and Wally West’s increasingly crushing despair over his family getting disappeared. This is capped off to a seeming reveal over who is responsible for the massacre, with Harley stumbling across Booster Gold killing Wally West… Although I don’t entirely buy it for reasons described below. As previously mentioned in earlier reviews, as part of Sanctuary’s “therapy“ sessions, the hospital evidently can create seemingly endless life-like robots for the patients to take their frustrations out on. In an earlier issue, they had Booster getting beaten up by his own robot as a demonstration of his sense of self-loathing or, for example, how in this issue Harley and Ivy kill Joker!Bots over and over again for their own amusement.Given the robot thing? Yeah, I definitely think that what happened is is that one of the duplicates (most likely Booster’s, maybe Harley’s too) ended up going out to murder everyone. Hence why both Booster and Harley think that the other is responsible for the crime, and how the files got uploaded to the internet (ie the robots already had access to the files, and decided to share for whatever reason). The therapy robots being responsible totally would explain Barry, Ollie etc. blaming Bruce for all of the deaths because, let’s be honest, the man who decided to deal with his trauma by putting on a costume and beating people up is TOTALLY someone who’d think people beating up duplicates of themselves or their enemies is healthy (or at least, this would make sense for a poorly written Batman).By the same token, as we’ve seen no… you know… doctors or therapists in Sanctuary, I think that all of those pages of people talking about their problems are from the perspective of the patients’ robot-duplicates. Not sure if this is meant to be a twist, but if it is the case, it’s definitely another example of how incompetantly Sanctuary is being run.If it turns out that Batman’s incompetance ended up killing dozens of people who went to a hospital to get treatment for trauma, addiction etc. …Yikes, that’s actually sort of worse than the Brother Eye fiasco in the preboot DCU. -- source link
