(From the desk of Yogi) 8 years ago I was fortunate enough to meet a fella named Pat before one of my live sound shifts at Zaphods - we discussed working on an album together for a band named CAUCHEMAR which he had just joined. Although I was initially somewhat nervous/apprehensive due to Pat’s tough looking appearance and strong personality, I accepted the project and began working on a record with the band which was released in 2010 and titled ‘La Vierge Noire’. We continued to work together and released a second album in 2013 titled 'Tenebrario’ along with multiple records from ASILE which was another band that Pat was part of. Since then, CAUCHEMAR has played shows both at the old TARG and new (not to mention the rest of the world) - they return tonight to headline a stacked bill with OCCULT BURIAL and THE DEATH WHEELERS. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened had I given into fear and turned down that initial recording… I’m glad I didn’t. Years later I recognize that moment as one that introduced me to some of the nicest people imaginable and some of my most cherished experiences/memories. I’m super stoked for tonight’s show - hope everyone gets a chance to experience the magic that surrounds this great group live. See ya tonight :) #ottawa #music #bands #nevergiveup (at House of TARG) -- source link
